Our teachers and staff are carriers of vast polycultural experience who have lived or still live abroad. The criterion of native speech is not deemed the priority because natives are often monocultural.

The size of an average group is 7 students. Groups of preschool children are usually smaller; their lessons are conducted by a teacher and an assistant.

Yes, one may join any programme except for A-Levels.

Our teachers are first and foremost young specialists highly qualified in their field of specialty with an excellent command of English and great love for children. We teach them all the necessary methodics. Language teachers are an exception: they are professional teachers with excellent qualifications and vast experience.

We have intermediate and final exams for every age category. A-Levels students sit international exams for the British certificate and receive it once they have passed them. Moreover, all our graduates take IELTS.

We are flexible when it comes to forming the workload of our students and we offer a combination of group and private lessons if a student cannot attend classes from the standard group timetable or if they need some extra lessons. Individual lessons are provided only for students of group cources and cannot be the main educational programme of the centre. We also provide one-on-one online lessons but studying with a London Gates teacher outside the centre is not possible.

If fluency implies the ability to express yourself freely in English then it depends on two factors:
— Age. Children before 7 often struggle with speaking even in Russian: they are in the process of learning it.
— Psychological portrait of a child. If a child over 7 years old is active and sociable in Russian, then after 0.5-1 year of education they shall be able to express themselves freely with ease.

Yes. If a child has not yet reached 18, they need a formal custodian in the Great Britain – it's a standard procedure.

It depends on the extent to which a child is academically and psychologically ready to an accelerated pace of learning and whether they are prepared to put in super effort which it shall require. We can identify if a child is ready only by conducting an interview and special testing.

All A-Levels students prepare for this exam and take it. However, it is not possible to prepare for the exam taking individual lessons and not being a student at our centre.

Presence of a third party alters the course of a lesson. Children do not behave in a usual way and the teacher cannot work with them according to the plan. Group dynamics gets compromised as well. Due to these reasons it is not allowed to visit our lessons.

Open days and entrance tests are a regular occurence in the centre. While children are writing the tests, the centre's employees tell parents about the programmes. Moreover, throughout the year we have got plenty of open events for pre-school and school children where one can participate in real lessons with our teachers and ask questions to the administration.

No. The selection procedure which is concerned with assesment of academic knowledge and cultural status of a child and their parents is mandatory to begin the education. We aim to comprise like-minded people in our centre. It is important for us to work with the parents who are ready to share our values and goals, that is why we always reserve the right not to work with the clients (children and parents), with whom it is not possible.

During the interview we get acquainted with children and their parents, assess the academic knowledge of a child, conduct a language test and define their goals of the education. The interview is mandatory regardless of a child's age and the programme of their choice.

In order to provide the most comfortable process of learning the language and getting acquainted with it for younger children, the Junior programme (from 2.5 years) has a special educational curriculum. On certain days all lessons are taught in Russian and on ohter days– in English (based on what children have learnt during the "Russian" day). Primary school children (7-9 years) start to have classes in English right away. In order to make understanding of subjects as easy as possible teachers use illustrative methods of teaching: showing presentations, using various items and objects, acting out scenes with students.
Pre-school children study at our centre following the next educational programme: on certain days all lessons are taught in Russian and on ohter days– in English (based on what children have learnt during the "Russian" day).This allows children to immerse themselves into language in the most comfortable way. Every group has a teacher who speaks only English and an assistant who helps with the understanding and translates some words when necessary.

These two exams – British and American – are absolutely interchangeable, but we prepare students to the exam of British system IELTS. Our students' IELTS average score — 7.2 (with 9 being the maximum), which is 10% higher than the average result in Latvia.

This question is highly individual. "Not being up to par in terms of English" may mean very different things. Which ones in particular — we will be able to find out only after the entrance test.
